How does the TV power supply

Power supply - a part necessary for the TV to work. It supplies the device with the electric power necessary for work. In case of breakdowns or defects, the device will not work. It is necessary to carry out repairs or buy a new one.

The principle of operation of the TV power supply

A power supply is a source of electricity that supplies the device with current. It converts the mains voltage to the required values.

Attention! Without such a unit, the TV can fail immediately, due to high voltage.

Main function

It has 3 main functions:

  1. Power supply, electricity conversion.
  2. Protection against interference of the supply voltage.
  3. Maintaining voltage inside the TV.

When the power supply is not working properly

There are several malfunctions characteristic of them:

  1. The fuse blows.
  2. Short circuit.
  3. The device does not work, although all the important details are working, and there is voltage on the rectifier.
  4. Unable to connect because protection is triggered.
  5. The transistor burned out.
  6. Circuit voltage increases or decreases.

In the event of a breakdown, do the following:

  1. Turn off the TV and pull out the plug from the network.
  2. Now you need to discharge the capacitor.
  3. We take out the board from the device.
  4. We inspect the board for external damage.
  5. Using a multimeter, we check the following details: resistor, transistors, diodes and capacitor.
  6. Inspect the back of the board. We check for cracks, breakdowns and soldering reliability.

If it is broken, then you need to understand how the repair is carried out. The part can be taken to a service center. But, with a basic knowledge of electronics, repairs can be done with your own hands. For this:

  1. First you need to disassemble it. Visually inspect for damage.
  2. Check the quality of the soldering elements.
  3. We check which places overheat during operation, and in which places blackening appears.
  4. If the problem is the unreliability of soldering elements, it is necessary to solder the contacts with a soldering iron.
  5. If the problem occurs when heating or blackening, we need to remove the defective part and replace it.

If such a block breaks down, it is recommended to immediately refer it to specialists if it fails. This is due to the fact that if you make the block incorrectly, you can spoil the TV.
