How to open task manager using the keyboard

Full-fledged and fast computer operation is achieved through the interaction of several OS components that perform various tasks. So, thanks to a mouse click, you can execute a huge number of commands and open files, documents and programs. We are so used to this convenient device that we cannot imagine other ways of working. However, sometimes it happens that the equipment fails, and it is not possible to replace it in the near future.

Few people know how to correctly perform actions and basic commands carried out with the mouse using the keyboard buttons. To help deal with this problem, we’ll cover the basic ways to enable the task manager.

There are several ways to launch the dispatcher, the fastest of which is to use the mouse. Just a couple of clicks and the necessary program will open. However, in the event of a breakdown and a problem in the functioning of the device, this cannot be done.

But do not panic, there are other opening options. They consist of a combination of "secret" key combinations that provide access to the necessary programs and the main menu of the computer.

IMPORTANT! The fastest mouse-free access options involve using a connected keyboard and a combination of several keys on it. For this, the device must be connected to the appropriate connector and ensure normal operation.

Ctrl + Alt + Del

One of the key combinations that you can safely use to call the task manager:

  1. Find the necessary buttons and press them at the same time.
  2. After clicking, the program will open a special security window in the Windows system.
  3. From the suggested list, find the line with the task manager that interests you.
  4. Using the control arrows and the Enter button, select this item and, clicking on it, activate.

This method is perfect in cases when the computer freezes up when it does not respond to any of your actions.

Ctrl + Shift + Esc

This is perhaps the fastest way available to enable the dispatcher via hotkeys. Everything is simple, just click on the above buttons at the same time, and the system itself will bring you to the desired window, opening the necessary program.

If the previous methods did not help to correct the situation, you can use another option. Performing it will be a little harder. In order to facilitate the task, we suggest you use the step-by-step instruction:

  1. First, activate the Run window with the Win key (in some cases, the combination Win + R is used).
  2. In the line with the signature "Open", type the word taskmgr and use the Enter key to press Enter.
  3. After that, the program will automatically transfer you to the desired area of the system.

This option is little known and practically not used, but it is also able to help in this problem. There are other ways to activate, we talked only about the most famous of them. Be prepared to use your keyboard if you suddenly turn off the mouse.
