LED printers - the principle of operation

LED printing began to be used in the 80s. The technology has replaced expensive laser equipment. Printing is carried out using the photographic method. The difference from laser devices is the method of lighting the sensitive drum.. In LED models, the ruler is located along the surface of the shaft, ensuring uniform flow distribution. Due to the design features, this technique is more reliable than analogs. Such printers are able to provide high quality images.

How does the LED printer

The principles of operation of LED-equipment are similar with laser models.

Device

  • Fotoval is the basis of the design.
  • Located on its surface semiconductors that respond to light.
  • When light from diodes the resistance changes to the area and the primary image appears on the paper.
  • Further particles coloring toner are attracted by the opposite charge. And under the influence of high temperatures fix their position.

REFERENCE. The material of the sensing shaft affects the formation of charge. Most often used models with a negative charge.

The main stages of printing

  • Paper is fed into the device using pinch rollers. In the process, the sheet is aligned and prepared for image reproduction.
  • In parallel, there is an accumulation of charge on the drum. For this, a corotron or charging shaft is used.
  • The LED tape begins to light up in areas where it is necessary to apply the image. Control is carried out using the main control unit.
  • After that, the toner is attracted to the highlighted areas. To fix it, use high pressure and temperature.
  • The result is a sheet with a finished image that is resistant to external influences.

Color Printing Techniques

A color LED printer, before starting printing, prepares an image. With the raster processor, the division into four primary colors occurs.

IMPORTANT. Separate cylinders are used to print each color. If necessary, the shades are mixed.

  • Single pass method used in modern models. Processing and drawing of the image occurs in one pass through the shafts.
  • Multipass technology contains an intermediate section on which the image is applied separately and then transferred to paper.

Types of LED printers and their capabilities

All printers can be divided into several groups. These include monochrome and color equipment, as well as spherical toner devices. The main difference is structure of the printing substance. Under the influence of high temperatures, the core of the toner elements starts to melt first. The resulting mass easily permeates the paper.

ATTENTION! Spherical particles allow you to make sharper points. Therefore, the image quality becomes better.

Features of LED printers

Monochrome

This equipment has a simple design. Due to the fact that the cartridge and the sensitive drum are separated, it is possible to replace the elements separately.

LED light

Such printers have compact size and lower cost. The devices are safe to print and make no noise.

The design of the printer contains 250010000 diodes, depending on the resolution of the product. The service life of LED lamps is higher than the laser and lenses in similar models.

Colored

These printers allow you to print high-resolution image quality. This provides a more accurate transfer of text and fine details.

Apply 4 basic colors: yellow, black, blue and crimson shade. Processing speed depends on the model.

REFERENCE! The limit value is 36 A4 sheets per minute. Maximum monthly load should not exceed 150,000 copies.

Due to the absence of rotating mechanisms, LED printers have higher reliability.

This technology is an effective alternative to laser printing. Printers are easy to use and do not need specialized maintenance. Under the right conditions of use, the products will provide high-quality printing for a long period.
